Hello. We have been creating introductory messages using extranormal.com. Please click at the bottom of the picture to listen to mine.
Miljil interviewed Anne from the NG Home for the elderly. This is what I found out about my Senior Citizen, Anne. When you have read about my project, please fill in the comment box and tell me about a senior citizen or grandparent that you know. Thanks
Anne as a small child
There were four children in my family. My dad was the manager of a butter factory. There were a lot of jobs like farmers and working in stationary shops. I played a lot with my brother and enjoyed playing with my dolls too when I was a small child. I also liked climbing trees.
Anne’s Primary School Days
We went to a small school in Umhlali and we went to school by car. There were only two classes at the school. At school we did a lot of reading, writing and arithmetic. We only started Afrikaans in Standard Three (Grade five)! We got lots of homework and we were whipped if we were naughty! My favourite games to play were Ring a ring a roses, Nuts in May, and skipping.
Anne as a teenager
When I was teenager we had no cell phones or computers. We had no TV. At school we wore a uniform but at home I loved wearing dresses. At our school you could play hockey as an extramural. In my spare time I liked to ride my bicycle and talk to my friends. In the evenings my fami8ly liked to play cards. I went on my first date when I was seventeen. People liked to go to the bioscope (movies) on a date. The perfect date was to go to the beach together. I liked to listen to jazz music. My mom always cooked meat and vegetables for us. We had a servant who helped us to clean our house. I met my husband while playing badminton.
